Wandearah Cricket Club proudly sponsored by the Port Football Club created history on Saturday the 7th March 2009 when they equalled the record of the most consecutive premierships in the history of Port Pirie Cricket. South achieved 5 in a row from 1947/1948 to 1951/1952. Played on variable pitch and a slow outfield scoring was difficult.Match scores – Wandearah batting first 10/105, Props 10/69.Wandearah fast bowler Reece Gillett was man of the match with the amazing figures of 5/11 of 7.5overs. Matt Thornton got Wandearah’s bowling off to an incredible start getting Andrew Fuchs out caught behind first ball of the innings.The Wandearah U17’s completed a good double for the Club winning the Grand Final replay at the Port Oval on Sunday following last weeks tie.
