Jamie McNamara announced his retirement after the 2009 Spencer Gulf League Grand Final. Before a packed Club room on Saturday night Jamie received a standing ovation after his announcement. Jamie commenced his career at Port in 1993 and has played a Club record 276 league games. Jamie was Club captain from 1996 until 2006 during which he was a six time premiership captain. His honours include the 2002 Best & Fairest. A life member of the Port Football Club Jamie was an inspirational captain admired for his dedication and attack on the ball.
Jamie also played league football for Orroroo and Central Augusta before commencing his career at Port.
