The Port Football Club for the third year in a row had three sides in the 2009 Spencer Gulf League Grand Finals. The thirds were playing in their fourth consecutive Grand Final. The Seconds were successful on the day being back to back premiers. The League in the Centenary year of the Club failed to convert their chances but the Club is proud of the way they battled all day. Having had eight more scoring shots at half time the Club found itself behind on the scoreboard and Central Augusta after half time proved to good.
Our Club has copped some criticism because of our stance on Central Oval at Port Augusta but one of the following photos shows the poor state of the oval.
