Disappointing loss to a top side up in Port Augusta. Our depth was stretched in this game as we went down convincingly to a much more polished out fit on the day in a disappointing tribute to John Murphy in his 350th Club game.
We had plenty of the ball but our turnovers and inability to get good movement forward compared to their direct approach certainly showed. We did not show the desire to get enough numbers to the contest and too many of our group were far to quiet and spectated instead of involving themselves fully in the contest. The stats were suprisingly even with I50’s 41 to 48 but with their conversion at 34.7% to opur 12.2% it is easy to see where the blowout lies. 5.13 is a terrible conversion rate at goals as well. Chris Stephens had a good 18 1%ers for the day with 7 tackles 9 smother/spoils but was up against it on Morris. Terry Hall also got double figures and Murphy had 8 from limited opportunity. Positives that came from the game- (not many)
• We had a glimpse of the level we must beat
• Stephens season high 1%ers
• Our stats showed there is plenty of growth to come with better use of the ball. We had more I50’s in the 1st half?!
• Mudge and Corrieri had better games and starting to work toward finals.

Points we need to improve on
• Must break thru and find more avenue to goal when they drop big guys back
• 1%ers steadily dropped off as the game went 31/29/27/22 for a low tally of 109.
• We didn’t drop back and helkp defence quick enough
• Didn’t pressure their ball carrier enough• Ball handling and disposal; under pressure was poor• Conversion rate in front of goal.• We didn’t perform as we would have liked under trying circumstances and all didn’t step up- our chance for redemption will come and we must do it then.• Some were too keen to look to blame others for things that they should control.  Looking forward
Sollys – Again have won there last two and a slight crack of opportunity has been forced open for them. They will hit us with everything this week similar to their midseason push when they also won their two Augusta games.
We must look to squeeze all we can from these next two games as we look toward finals. We should welcome some players back for consideration this week and look forward to others in the coming weeks. We will continue to look aheadand focus on the little things that will bring us and the club success and look forward to Sunday.
