The Port Football Club will as part of the Centenary celebrations be introducing a Hall of Fame. There will be 37 initial inductees with 5 of these being legends of the Club.
The Hall of Fame induction will be held on the 9th May 2009 at the Club.
Selection Criteria – Initial Hall of Fame
Legends must be a member of the Hall of Fame
Players must be retired for two (2) years
Coaches must be retired for two (2) years
Board members must be retired for two (2) years
All other officials regarded as sub-committee members and therefore eligible for selection eg Past Players Committee, Junior Development Committee etc
All selections must be Life Members
Selection Criteria – Future Additions to Hall of Fame
Nominees to be reviewed on an annual basis
Selections to be restricted to one (1) Legend and a maximum of three (3) Hall of Fame members
Three (3) Hall of Fame selections can be either players or officials
Selection Criteria used for initial Hall of Fame to be strictly adhered to
Selection Committee – Future Additions to Hall of Fame
Representatives from the club board, such members nominated by the board
Two (2) members of the Hall of Fame
Committee to determine how members will be nominated ie newspaper advertising, nomination by other members etc
Note – Life Membership Criteria
Life Membership is seen to be a pinnacle of club service and, as the Hall of Fame is a reward for outstanding club service, life membership is seen as a non- negotiable criteria for selection to the Hall of Fame.
