Lawrence Sheridan first played football for the Port Football Club in 1942 in the under 18 side. For three years after this he was away serving his country in the war and on returning in 1946 he played Seconds for the Port Football Club. Lawrence was "B" Grade Secretary for a number of years and in 1952 he was elected to the "A" Grade Committee becoming "A" Grade Secretary in 1954 a position he held until 1964. Lawrence served as a delegate to the Port Pirie Football League for many years. Lawrence was the first Secretary of the Port Football Club Past Players and Officials Assocaition which had its first meeting on the 29th August 1969 and he held this position until 19th February 1996. Since then Lawrence has been the Patron of the Port Football Club Past Players and Officials Association. Lawrence is a life member of the Port Football Club.
