With a few players coming back and up against a very defensive and in form Solomontown the result was pleasing. Our tackle count was better for the day and we won the clearances despite losing the I50’s. This was often due to the fact they had two players back behind the ball which made it easier for them to go forward but very hard to score! 

Turnovers were still a concern especially with our handball – we must keep the ball up, not at their feet!!!! Kicking was ok but continued to fly against one another and dropped some simple chest marks Double figures for the 1%ers were Stephens, Tobin and Penny. Our defence was very good and apart from about 5 min late in the third that cost us 3 goals there was only 3 for the rest of the game, good effort. Our goal kicking in parts were poor but we ran on well in the last. The free kick count was heavily in their favour 32/19 despite them believing otherwise and we kept our cool well. 

Positives that came from the game-
• Back in the winners circle against the old enemy • Excellent defence, 6 goals • Tackle count was up with room to improve • Won the clearances again and used ball well by foot going forward. • Finished game off well apart from 5 min in second• Won despite losing I50’s

Points we need to improve on
• Concentration with handball and simple chest marks!!!! • Free kicks- too many in the backs and a reflection of not getting under enough! • Slow to push up on the lose players they dropped back in from time to time.Finished game off well apart from 5 min in 3rd • Too often flying against one another • Talk still needs to lift.

Looking forward
West- they are a good side that turned it on for 20 min of devastating footy against us last time. They have a good spread of smalls and talls and we look forward to the clash again!  Lets hit finals with confidence.
