Sam Mayes has been selected in the State under 16 squad to compete in the AFL Under-16 Championships at Blacktown, NSW from July 3-10. A World XVIII will take part in the championship. A product of our juniors Sam made his league debut for Port on the 17th May 2009 as a 14 year old and played 15 league games for the season. Sam was a member of the 2009 league grand final side.
Sam was captain of the Port under 15 premiership side in 2009. Sam becomes the third Port player to make a state junior side in recent years following Dean Christie and Lewis Johnston.
