BUSY JARS
North Adelaide coach Andrew Jarman was busy last weekend. On the Friday night he attended a charity function he had committed to months before North's big ball was planned at the Hilton International, so he forced to miss the Roosters' night of nights.
On the Saturday night Andrew and brother Darren represented North as guest speakers at the Port Football Club's past players dinner at Port Pirie. Port's 1958 premiership players were honoured, and among them was Max Goodwin, the only survivor of Port's 1948 premiership side. He stressed how too many of today's players needed to learn how to kick properly. Obviously his nephew, Crows captain Simon Goodwin, listened to him years ago.
For the record, Port wears the Port Magpies' famous ‘prison-bars' Guernsey, but, having Irish Catholic heritage, its colours are green & white, and it is known as the Bulldogs.
